The Retired Police Officers Association of Western Australia

By all accounts the formation of our Association had been “on the table” for some time. It is
mentioned in the forward of the first minutes taken on the 11th September, 1963 and quoted
thus, “The need for the formation of an Association of Retired Police Officers in Western
Australia, in varying degree, passed through the minds of many retired and serving officers
over the years. It was brought out and aired and put away into the recesses for some period,
not to be hidden permanently, the theme and practicability of formation was discussed
meaningfully by the personnel of the Police Union Officers in the early 1960’s “.
